Please save your 1 gallon plastic milk and juice jugs, and bring them to our class. When we have collected enough, we will use them to build an igloo in our classroom.

The Second Nine Weeks of School

Dear Kindergarten Families,

In an effort to keep you informed about your child’s classroom activities during the second nine weeks of school, the following is a list of some concepts that will be introduced.

Recognize letters and the sounds they make
Begin to decode "read" simple words
Write upper and lower case letters
Discuss word meanings
Use vocabulary to describe ideas, feelings and experiences
Retell or act out the order of important events in a story
Identify roles of an author and illustrator
Participate in small/large group discussions
Count concrete objects to 20
Count by ones to 50
